Lynx 1400 Series
The Lynx 1400 GigE switch is available with either one or two gigabit ports. A combination of copper and fiber optic ports is available for specific applications or to reduce installation costs. The Lynx supports a number of ring management recovery protocols to enable fast network recovery. RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) is fully supported on the Lynx platform, however, for ultra-fast network recovery FRNT (Fast Reconfiguration Network Topology) v0 offers network recovery times of 20mS. The Lynx 1400 fully supports multicast filtering, IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) and VLAN for maximising throughput on the network. In addition the Lynx 1400 unit offers basic management features that include SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and port mirroring to aid network investigations. Unit configuration is achieved using the Windows based tool that enables the switch to be easily configured through any of the Ethernet ports and hence across a large or small network. As with all Westermo devices the real time properties of Ethernet have been mirrored with the Lynx unit by incorporating both layer 2 and layer 3 priority support and HoL (Head Of Line) blocking prevention. The user configurable fault contact has also been enhanced to aid network fault diagnostics. As with all Westermo products the Lynx 1400 fulfils the highest environmental requirements making it ideal for applications where wide temperature, power and EMC specifications are a prerequisite.
